We are back and it’s the last day of the show. All the cow classes and Youth Horsemanship took place and everyone is heading out. The Horsemanship classes had many entries, but only three winners: Rookie- Jessica Angle/Lopin By My Dreams, 13 and under- June Roberson/Magnetyzed, 14-18- Madison Parduhn/So Blazin Im Amazin.

This morning, Austin and Dailey showed in Youth Performance Halter Mares. Austin won Reserve Champion with his horse, AFancyRodder and received a silver trophy. Dailey placed 7th with her horse, Better B Good To Me and receiving a ribbon. They celebrated their wins by enjoying a sweet treat from the Sweet Shop!

It was a little sad to see that our youth numbers have dropped so drastically all around the board. We had seen it at home in Alabama, but to know it was everywhere was a little disheartening. We looked at statistics regarding youth that had answered surveys. We’ve seen a 20% drop since 2008 in our youth. But, we listened to the panel and our current Youth President talk about ways that we can fix this and move forward.

Final Sun Circuit Blog- Farewell Friends!

As my last day showing at the Sun Circuit come to a close I would like to take a minute to reflect on what an amazing time I had with so many beautiful people. It reminded me of one of my favorite things about horse shows (besides riding horses) is that I get the chance to meet, make friends, and catch up with people from all over the country and even the world. So thank you to all the amazing people in this industry that make it that much better and so much more fulfilling!
