BREAKING NEWS: Amateur and Open COLOR Division Announced For 2016 Breeders’ Halter Futurity
The Board of Directors of the Breeders Halter Futurity is excited to announce the addition of an Amateur and Open Color Division for APHA and ApHC Stallions. Participating Stallions must have Regular Registry Papers.
The Color Division Classes will be held in conjunction with the Amateur and Open Breeders Halter Futurity in September 2016 in Des Moines, Iowa. Weanling Classes will be held the first year, followed by the addition of Yearling Classes the second year. Payouts are expected to be $300,000 for these Color Classes.
Other exciting changes for the Breeders Halter Futurity include the addition of 3-Yea- Old Classes in 2016 and possibly Aged Horses the following year. We will also now offer Amateur Junior and Senior Weanling Classes. We are also making some rule changes that allow more horses eligible to compete at our event. Beginning in 2016, only the top three placing horses at any World Show or the BHF are ineligible to participate. So, those weanlings that placed in 4th – 10th place at the BHF this year will be eligible to compete as yearlings.
