That’s a wrap on the 2019 AQHA Central and Nutrena East Level 1 Championship shows. AQHA Level 1 exhibitors from 30 states competed for 186 world championship titles between the two shows. The AQHA Central Level 1 Championships was April 9-13 at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City and the Nutrena East Level 1 Championships was April 30 – May 4 at the World Equestrian Center in Wilmington, Ohio.

Between the Central Level 1 and Nutrena East Level 1, more than 1,000 horses and 1,000 exhibitors competed in western, English and halter events, with more than 3,900 total entries in these events. The entries encompassed exhibitors from 30 states. View the official results and score sheets at www.aqha.com/level1championships.

AQHA Professional Horsemen volunteered their time to give free Ride the Pattern clinics, presented by Nutrena. These clinics gave exhibitors and spectators the perfect opportunity to learn how AQHA Professional Horsemen would approach a specific class or pattern in Level 1 competition. Thanks to the generosity of the Ride the Pattern clinics attendees, the Professional Horsemen Crisis Fund raised more than $3,000 in donations.

Cargill representatives led presentations at the Educational Seminars at the AQHA Central and Nutrena East Level 1 Championships. Attendees learned to enhance their equine nutrition program and their American Quarter Horse at these seminars.

The AQHA West Level 1 Championships is rescheduled for September 23-29 at the South Point Arena & Equestrian Center in Las Vegas. Entries for the rescheduled show are due August 30. The entry form, a full tentative schedule for the rescheduled show and more information will be posted soon at www.aqha.com/level1championships.

Exhibitors who were entered to compete at the West Level 1 in April will be refunded in full for their entries. Refunds will be made in the same payment method that was received. Read here for more information on the rescheduled show.

About the AQHA Level 1 Championships

The AQHA Level 1 Championships feature walk-trot, Rookie and Level 1 classes. The shows offer a variety of events and activities for competitors, friends, family and spectators to take part in throughout the show, including free Ride the Pattern clinics taught by AQHA Professional Horsemen. The Level 1 Championships are intended for exhibitors to learn and grow in the show arena while sharpening their horsemanship skills. The shows provide a safe environment for AQHA members to be showcased in a championship arena and to compete to earn prizes for their dedication.

Level 1 cattle events and Rookie and Level 1 ranch riding will be offered at the AQHA Level 1 Cattle Championships during the 2019 Zoetis AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse World Championships in June at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
