Annual Beach Ride to Raise $550,000 for Life Saving Research
Over 1,000 trail riders to attend five-day event

Myrtle Beach, S.C. – October 10, 2023 – The American Heart Association, a global force for longer, healthier lives will welcome more than 1,000 horses and trail riders to the annual Beach Ride at Lakewood Camping Resort from November 1st-5th, 2023. The campaign raises awareness that cardiovascular disease remains the No.1 cause of death, affecting one out of every three Americans.

On Wednesday, November 1st, participants will travel from more than 22 states for this five-day event that will feature a vendor village, a costume parade, karaoke competition, nightly entertainment, and silent auction. The annual 20-mile beach ride will take place Saturday, November 4th at 7 a.m. between Lakewood Camping Resort and 54th Avenue North.

“This unique event would not be possible without the support of our participants and the Myrtle Beach community year after year,” said Lindsay Pampani, director of development for the American Heart Association. “The hard work and dedication of our volunteers and fundraisers has helped us provide funding for critical research and education. Together, we are working on creating a community of healthier individuals.”

In its 42 years, the Beach Ride has raised over seven million dollars for cardiovascular research helping the Association discover better treatment for heart disease and stroke.

Research funded by the Beach Ride has many important scientific advances including drug-coated stents, CPR guidelines and microsurgery. The goal for the 2023 American Heart Association Beach Ride is to raise $550,000 for heart and stroke research. For more information, contact MyrtleBeachSC@heart.org or visit AHABeachRide.org.
