Angie Cannizzaro and Lookn Like Trouble continue Winning Streak at 2025 Congress

Filed under: Around The Ring Galleries,Featured,Show Results & Gallery |

Friday night in the last class of the day in the Celeste Arena at the 2025 QH Congress, Angie Cannizzaro rode Lookn Like Trouble to their second win of the show for owners Justin & Julie Voge.

We spoke to Angie after their unanimous win to ask what’s special about this mare by Hay Goodlookn, and Angie had this to say: “Everything. You name it, she’s got it. She’s the best horse I’ve ever ridden in my life.”

It speaks volumes for a rider of Angie’s caliber, but Angie explains, “She loves to show, and she just proved that right now. She just got better and better throughout the ride. It’s like a dream because Nancy Ditty raised this horse, and I used to ride for Nancy, and we’re still really good friends – I love that family. Then the Voges bought her and they’ve been customers of mine for probably 15 years. So it has been special.”

As Angie explains, Mya’s sire, Hay Goodlookn is a rising young sire, and Mya is out of Nancy’s old Mercedes mare. “Mya is like a family horse – a horse that means so much to me.”

She adds that what she thought the judges like about Mya is how natural she is. “She’s happy to do her job. I’m not helping her. All I do is just keep her in gear and try not to mess up because she’s amazing, and she’s always happy – she slept all day today – she’s just the best.”

Looking forward, Angie reveals that the Voges incredible breeding program will include Mya, since she’s a full double, and they’ll breed her to Heartstoppin, also a full double. But first, they have more to accomplish. “Of course, Justin wants to show her in the non-pro stuff, and I get to show her at the World Show, where I’ve shown since I was 19. I’m really excited about that.”

Angie additionally wants to thank her husband, and Allie and Felicity who are holding it down at home.  She notes they’ve cut down on their operation in recent years to focus on the customers they have.

“It’s an honor – I get to ride horses every day for the greatest people in the world. And I get to ride some of the greatest horses in the world. Mya makes me look good, you know? She really does, and it really does still feel like a dream. God is good. God is good. It’s that simple.”
