Ady Kallay Conquers the World with The Batchelor

Filed under: Around The Ring Galleries,Featured,Show Results & Gallery |

It’s the stuff dreams are made of — you dream of winning at the AQHYA World Show, and you always have wanted it more than anything, ever since you can remember.  You find a new horse that seems like the perfect match for you.  Even though you and your new equine partner have only known each other a few months, you work hard with your legendary trainer, who lives many miles away – you’re in Alberta, Canada, and she’s in Texas.

But you press on, tackling with show with gusto, and despite all the stars seemingly aligned, you’re facing a myriad of exhibitors who know their horses forward and back, and sometimes sideways, too. They just may have more than a few titles under their belts, and it’s no lie – they’re incredibly tough to beat.

Somehow, it’s your day – and you win – to your shock, delight, and surprise. Not once, but over and over again, and right before the placings are announced in the coveted class of L3 Western Horsemanship 14-18,  they award you and your precious horse with the 2025 AQHYA World Show High Point All Around 14-18 title. To top it off, you’ve won the class, too.

This isn’t fiction – it happened to Ady Kallay and her horse, The Batchelor, this week at the 2025 AQHYA World Show and as one might imagine, Ady tells the Equine Chronicle she’s on Cloud Nine.

“I can’t believe that this happened. It hasn’t totally clicked yet, but I just I feel like I’m on cloud 9 and I haven’t got off since the start of the week,” she says.

It was the first world show together for Ady and “Scout,” the 2017 sorrel gelding by How Bout This Cowboy and out of Shes Blazing Cool (by Blazing Hot), bred by Starland Ranch LLC of El Reno, Oklahoma. Even though they had only been a team for a few months, at this show, the titles kept coming, and Aly explains, “He couldn’t have shown up or done any better.”

The duo earned the following titles (and we think we listed them all!):

All Around 14-18 Youth

Champions L3 Western Horsemanship 14-18

Champions L3 Western Riding

Champions L2 Youth 14-18 Hunt Seat Equitation

Champions L2 Western Riding

Champions L3 Hunt Seat Equitation 14-18

Reserve L3 Showmanship 14-18

Reserve L2 Youth Trail 14-18

Bronze Trail L3 Finals 14-18

Bronze L2 and Reserve L3 Performance Halter Geldings

In the fall, Ady will begin her freshmen year at Texas A & M, which also seems like a long way from home, but according to Ady, Texas feels like a second home. “I’ve been coming down to Texas for about ten years now, so it will be an easier adjustment than moving somewhere else. I love Texas, so I’m really excited.”

Going to Ocala for The Championship Show is on their schedule, however, and Ady has already set sensible goal by planning to have “good preparation, and consistent patterns – just always a little bit better than the last.”
