A Generational Legacy

Brianna Lear and her home-bred Paint and Pinto horses have made the family’s dreams come true.

Everyone dreams of raising a champion, and for many, reaching that goal while holding the lead or the reins of that champion is the ultimate prize. For the Lear family, more than one winner has been raised at their Texas farm – in fact, they’ve made it a generational tradition as of this year’s 2025 APHA World Championship Show.

The legacy began with Vested Pine Painted Me (APHA name- VestdPine PaintdMe) by Vested Pine, who is a now 29-year-old mare. She’s pictured on the left in the photo above.

Back in 2011, after she was crossed with Sacred Assets in 2010, she produced a filly the Lears named “Sacred Assets Painted Me” (APHA name  Sacrd Assets PaintdMe). Sacred Assets Painted Me is pictured in the middle of the three-generational photo above.

The 2011 Bay Tobiano filly traveled to the 2012 Pinto World Championship Show with Brianna and her mom, Denise Lear, to compete in yearling in-hand events with Brianna. And they came home with a World Championship in Open Yearling In-Hand Trail.

Sacred Assets Painted Me and Brianna became all around partners in the show pen, but Brianna explains the mare has been on a bit of a show hiatus due to her “attending law school and having babies. I’m planning on showing her again in 2026.”

Sacred Assets Painted Me and her 2024 filly, Painted All Sacred, aka “Lainey.” Both horses were raised by the Lear family.

Meanwhile, they crossed her with Awesome All Night in 2023, and in 2024, the resulting gift from the maiden mare was another colorful filly- Painted All Sacred, a 2024 Bay Tobiano Mare they named “Lainey.”

In 2025, the Lear family traveled to the 2025 APHA World Championship Show with Lainey, and thirteen years after winning a World Championship with her dam, Brianna once again struck gold with her offspring, winning nearly $3,000 as the Breeders Futurity Gold Yearling In-Hand Trail champions!

The duo also accomplished the following at the 2025 APHA World Show, explains Denise:

NSBA Gold Yearling In-Hand Trail Breeders Futurity Champion

APHA Open Intermediate Yearling In-Hand Trail World Show Champion

APHA Open Jackpot Reserve Champion Yearling In-Hand Trail

APHA Open Reserve Champion Yearling In-Hand Trail

APHA Amateur Bronze Champion Yearling In-Hand Trail

APHA Amateur Intermediate Yearling In-Hand Trail World Show Champion

“What a great world show,” says Denise.  “I am so proud of both of them!” Brianna adds, “We were so blessed to win!”
