2026 Carolina PHC Summer Sizzler: from WR Farms, In Loving Memory of Jay Dadds

The Carolina Paint Horse Club just wrapped up their Summer Sizzler, an APHA Zone 9 POR and All Breed in Lumberton, North Carolina. Judges were John W Andersen, Jennifer Goss, David L Parlier, and Stephen Shank for the August 1-2, 2026 event.

From Winn Dadds, in memory of her father, Jay Dadds:

“WR Farms, located in Mullins, South Carolina, is a private family farm owned by Marshall Dadds. Established by Jay and Marshall Dadds, the farm has always been a place built on hard work, family, and a love for animals.

Jay passed away in 2023, but his love for the farm lives on through the horses, the animals he cared for, and the two ponds that brought him so much peace.

The Summer Sizzler was Jay’s favorite horse show to attend. If you were there, you probably saw him doing just about everything—washing horses, tacking them up, giving riders a leg up, cheering everyone on, and, of course, filming videos (even if they occasionally featured more of his feet than the horses!).

In memory of my dad, Jay Dadds, WR Farms is honored to sponsor the candid photos for this year’s Summer Sizzler. My hope is that everyone leaves this show with a special memory to look back on, just as he always did.
