The foundation for the all-around horse is to be a solid mover with correct conformation. The Western Plea-sure and Hunter Under Saddle classes are meant to be used as a launch pad for the other performance classes: Western Riding, Trail, Horsemanship, Hunter Hack, and Jumping, just to name a few.

The growth of performance classes outside of the pleasure arena has added more interest for the stock horse, but it also means there has been a slight shift in numbers for the rail classes.

So, a group of trainers, amateurs, owners, and enthusiasts have come together to help reinvigorate the rail horse classes and the industry through the Rail Horse Association (RHA), creating more opportunities for exhibitors who show Western Pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle.
