WI Quarter Horse Partners Acquire Rising Star Mare “Forever In Always” (Peppermint) from Liz Baker
WI Quarter Horse Partners, a newly formed collaboration between Williamson Quarter Horses (Dee and Laura Williamson) and Ironwood Farms (Jamie Busic and Amanda Boros), proudly announces the acquisition of the young, world-class mare Forever In Always (Peppermint) from renowned trainer Liz Baker of Cole Baker Show Horses.
“Peppermint,” a 2022 black mare by Hay Goodlookn and out of Forever Kool (Machine Made × Forever N Ever), has already made her mark in the show pen under the guidance of Cole Baker. Her accomplishments include:
2024 (as a 2-Year-Old):
2025 (as a 3-Year-Old):
Jamie Busic: “Beyond her titles, Peppermint has a presence that sets her apart. At the NSBA World Show, she drew attention just walking to her vet check — people literally stopped to watch. I even had texts coming in asking who she was and if we were buying her. Moments like that really underscore her quality and elegance, and they confirmed she was exactly the kind of mare we wanted to build around.”
The vision behind WI Quarter Horse Partners was to bring together two established programs to acquire a mare who could excel in both the show arena and the breeding barn. Just as importantly, the partnership was built on friendship and trust.
Dee Williamson: “We wanted a mare with both the pedigree and the talent to compete at the very top, while also laying the foundation for a strong breeding program. Peppermint is exactly that.”
Jamie Busic: “Peppermint represents everything we hoped for when we formed this partnership. She has the look, the movement, and the bloodlines to succeed, and we’re excited to be part of her journey.”
Amanda Boros: “I’m thrilled about this partnership with Williamson Quarter Horses and Dee. Peppermint gives us the chance to compete at the highest level and also build for the future. It’s truly the best of both worlds.”
Under the guidance of Liz and Cole Baker, Peppermint will continue her show career, including competing in the Open division at the 2025 All American Quarter Horse Congress, followed by additional events in 2026. After Congress, the partnership will begin an embryo transfer program, with the first cross being to Fiire and Ice, owned by the Parrish family of Parrish Quarter Horses.
WI Quarter Horse Partners, Williamson Quarter Horses, and Ironwood Farms extend their thanks to Liz and Cole Baker for their trust and ongoing involvement, to the Parrish family of Parrish Quarter Horses for the opportunity to breed to their exceptional stallion, and to Laura Williamson, a friend and loving partner whose support is invaluable.
In short, we are all friends, and we have set ourselves up to not only have fun, but to be highly successful in the show pen, the breeding season, and in our future joint endeavors.
