SS Wrecking Ball and Elizabeth Yoder cinch the Win in $50K Sr. Ranch Riding

Again in 2025, World Equestrian Center Ocala and the Roberts family offered ranch horse exhibitors a myriad of enticing payouts at The Championship, and perhaps the most appealing was the $50,000 Senior Ranch Riding, held Saturday, September 13, 2025.

The class of 30 boasted stiff competition, with recognizable names and more than one renowned champion from the world of ranch.  When the results were finalized, two horse and rider teams tied for the top honors, and by method of utilizing a tiebreaker judge, the winner of the championship and the $15,000 check was SS Wrecking Ball with Elizabeth Yoder for Alex & Karmon Dorsey.

The six-year-old stallion by SG Frozen Enterprise and out of Xtra Ruby Step has only been with Elizabeth Yoder this year, and he’s still green eligible in everything, she explains.  “He was a very successful reining horse, and I got him to extend his career into the ranch riding. He has just been a blessing to my life, and I just love him.”

The duo won the Green Trail earlier in the day, and earlier in the week, they won the Senior Rail.  “He’s so trustworthy, and I know I can call on him every time. I never have to school him,” explains Elizabeth, who says during the pattern, he was amazing and with her the entire time.  “He’s such a good boy and it was so much fun.”

Their next stop after 9-10 days at home is the 2025 All American Quarter Horse Congress, then they’re headed to the AQHA World Show.  “I’m really excited to finish the year on him,” Elizabeth says.  “He is the best-minded stallion I’ve ever been around. He’s just such a gentleman. But I think my favorite thing about him just as a horse in general is that I know I can count on him. I can show him hard every time and he’s going to be with me, which is just fun. It gives me confidence because I always know he’s going to be good.”

He’s the first ranch horse for the Dorsey family, who also have all around horses and reiners, so Elizabeth jokes that she hopes they have the bug now for ranch events.  “They are amazing to work for. They’re great, great owners, and I’m so excited for this victory for them.”

The win was extra sweet, as Elizabeth says she was having a hard time this week because she missed her daughter’s birthday to come to the show.  “That was really, really, hard, but this made it a little easier. I’m still in shock that I came out on top. I mean, there’s so many good horses and riders in here, and I’m so blessed to be able to do what I do.”

To top it all off, Elizabeth says the payout offered is unbelievable.  “I’m just very, very thankful to Mary and everyone at World Equestrian Center to put up this kind of money for a ranch riding event. This is unheard of, and I’m grateful to be part of it.”
