It’s an expression unmatched – the result of the first show, and the first ribbon.
Meet Katy Monhaut Ames on Metallic Autumn, showing at their first Ranch Horse Association of Michigan show. “Autumn” is a talented Metallic Cat gelding owned by Nancy Hyer (but not for long), says Katy’s mother-in-law, Joan Ames.
This picture also represents Katy’s very first time showing, with ribbons earned in boxing and wins on the rail (on a horse never shown rail), explains Joan. “Autumn has had too many miles to count, and he has found his person and his purpose. Their faces remind us of the joy of being a horse’s friend. The picture of them loping reminded me how lucky I am. It is pure joy. Happy rider. Horse with a purpose finding his person. It is why we do this.”
