The Congress Super Sale held with the All American Quarter Horse Congress by the Ohio Quarter Horse Association proudly presents the Rod’s Congress Super Sale Trophy Saddle. Rod’s Western Palace sponsors and donates a trophy saddle every year, traditionally presented at the Congress Super Sale. The saddle is awarded to the horse’s current owner, which sold in the previous year’s Congress Super Sale, which accumulated the highest total number of AQHA points from sale date through August 31.

In Loving Memory of The Snooty Fox (1991-2020)

The Snooty Fox passed away peacefully the morning after my now husband, Jordan, and I got married. Although there is never a good time to lose an animal, I personally felt the timing couldn’t have been more heartbreaking. From the high to the low, it was the most emotional 24 hours of my life. As I have tried to process it all, I can’t help but feel maybe Snooty knew all along.

“The body weight is so important when you are determining how much to feed horses each day,” he said. “A 1,000-pound horse needs to eat 2% of its body weight each day, so about 20 pounds of feed. It doesn’t seem like a lot of hay, but if you underestimate your horse’s weight and buy 100 days’ worth of hay for a 1,000-pound animal that actually weighs 1,200 pounds, you’ll be short by more than eight bales per horse.”
