Jessica explains that Joe was recently diagnosed with cancer, and he has undergone multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation. Jessica says he has demonstrated how one must overcome, work hard, and never give up reaching goals through all of this. “He did not let this terrible diagnosis change him as a person or trainer. He continues to educate, encourage, and inspire me to become the best horseman that I can be. His only characteristics and the positive effect that he has on those around him make him so worthy of this.”

A Valued Partnership- QH Congress and Rod’s

Rod’s first store at the Congress was in the late ’70s, and it started as a 10 x 20 booth. At that time the Congress only lasted about ten days or two weeks. Over the years, our space and our partnership with OQHA and the Congress grew steadily. In the early 80’s Rod’s jumped at the opportunity to move into the SE corner of Congress Hall and continued to add space, including a connected tent outside the east wall. And as things changed, down the south wall, more space was added to create the current L-shaped store. During that time, Rod’s became the first retail Corporate Sponsor and increased the support of the show contributing cash and awards and the Judges and VIP sportscoats they wear every day.

7 to be Inducted into APHA Hall of Fame in 2021

The APHA Hall of Fame is gaining seven new inductees in 2021. The ceremony honoring those below will take place February 27, 2021, during the APHA Convention in the Fort Worth Stockyards (plans subject to modification due to COVID restrictions, should the need arise). Each inductee will receive an official APHA Hall of Fame Paint Horse statue designed by artist Clay Gant of Cowboy Bronze.
