Nowadays, maternity shoots, gender reveals, and newborn photo session are all the rage. It didn’t take long for the trend to cross over into the horse industry. Thus far this year, we’ve seen a maternity shoot for a mare and a creative gender reveal for an equestrian couple.
Thrush is the destruction of a portion of the horse’s hoof called the frog. This destruction is caused by an anaerobic bacteria and fungi that is not contagious. Thrush brings with it a recognizable, strong-smelling odor coming from the affected area. Although thrush is a somewhat common condition, it shouldn’t be underestimated. If left untreated, it may penetrate the sensitive structures of the hoof and cause temporary to permanent lameness.

Continue reading …At the end of October 2017, Abby was at drill practice when the horse she was riding collided with another then flipped over and landed on her. Abby was airlifted to Blank Children’s Hospital with a brain bleed. She was in the hospital for four days and missed almost an entire month of school. Abby took about six months off from riding while her body healed.
Continue reading …Duties include, but not limited to organizing and distributing all awards on a daily basis, setting up and maintaining VIP receptions, assisting with PWC Market Place Trade show and Youth Judging Contest, coordinating the PtHA Dog Show, helping with the PWC Cookout, and some arena duties as needed. The first five days will be set up days in preparation for the Youth Judging Contest and horse show.

Continue reading …In a new twist for 2019, horses cannot have been shown ASTRIDE in any Western Riding, Trail, or similar Versatility event prior to the Lucas Oil World official entry deadline of September 16, 2019. There remains no eligibility restrictions for Western Pleasure or Conformation classes. As of the official entry deadline of September 16 and thereafter, horses may be shown without restriction at any competition and in any classes, including the All American Quarter Horse Congress, without forfeiting PVC eligibility.
