According to the Springfield Business Journal, a construction company has been awarded a contract to renovate the Coliseum at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. It’s an ambitious project, because it’s been given a July 20th completion date for the $10.2 million project.

During the pre-game festivities, each team brought out their respective mascots, the Georgia Bulldog’s “Uga X,” a white bulldog, and the Texas Longhorn’s steer, “Bevo XV.” The two were supposed to meet for a pre-game photo opportunity; however, Bevo got a bit rambunctious with his handlers and broke through the barrier that separated him from the press.

Fast Food Giant, Wendy’s, to Sponsor Freestyle Reining at Dixie Nationals

The Freestyle Reining has become the highlight of the Dixie National Quarter Horse Show and truly demonstrates the great physical ability of the American Quarter Horse. In this class, horse and rider perform reining maneuvers to music and the combination of the two makes for a spectacular show. Approximately 6,000 spectators will journey to Jackson, MS to witness this communication of horse and rider, making the Freestyle Reining a crowd favorite.
