The Quarter Horse News recently relayed the sad news of a fatal crash that involved a horse transport vehicle just days prior to the Australian NCHA Futurity. Sadly, one person was killed, two were injured, and nine horse were euthanized at the site of the accident.

The Pennsylvania Quarter Horse Association held its Memorial Day Show May 25­27 in Centre Hall, Pennsylvania. The show boasted increased entries from 2017 with 740 entries per judge—a 28% boost from the previous year.

The project also indicated: 1) Therapy horses do not differentiate between humans with PTSD and those without.  2) Therapy horses display more stress behaviors when they are alone in a round pen. 3) Therapy horses are more attentive to humans who are experienced around horses. 4)  Therapy horses are calmer with humans who are inexperienced around horses.
