The Mississippi Paint Horse Club recently hosted the Dixie Nationals Paint-O-Rama February 3-4 in Jackson, Mississippi to the tune or 500 entries. This first weekend of equine competition was the kickoff to the Dixie Nationals Livestock Show and Rodeo that will continue through Sunday, February 18th.

The Georgia Bulldogs have claimed the top spot for the eighth consecutive set of Farnam Team Rankings and remains the only team unbeaten this season. The SMU Mustangs drop down to No. 3 this week after a loss to an unranked South Carolina squad last Saturday, February 3rd. Texas A&M moves up to No. 2 and Auburn jumps up to No. 4 after going 1-1 last weekend on the road. Oklahoma State falls to No. 5 following a home loss to the Auburn Tigers.

In Memory of the “Over The Hill Gang”

In 1989, Bill Goggins was killed in a car accident just shortly before that year’s award’s banquet. That year, Bill was set to receive his first WQHA award for being named the High Point Novice Amateur Western Pleasure exhibitor. Instead, Bill’s family graciously asked that the Reserve Champion, Darrel Holman, be presented with the award that year.
