Cofrancesco III of Sparta, New Jersey; AQHA Executive Committee member, the late Dick Monahan from Walla Walla, Washington; Bobby D. Cox of Fort Worth, Texas; the late Marvin Barnes of Ada, Oklahoma; and trainer and horsewoman Sandra Vaughn of Hernando, Florida. Five horses were also inducted: 1987 racing stallion Strawfly Special, 1985 western pleasure stallion Zips Chocolate Chip, 1994 show gelding Majestic Scotch, 1961 barrel racing mare Casey’s Ladylove and 1983 racing mare Dashing Phoebe.

Horse industry employers have for many years found it difficult to recruit American workers to fill these jobs,” said AHC President Julie Broadway. “For this reason, American immigration policy has been a major concern of the horse industry and the AHC has worked to ensure the H-2B non-agricultural and H-2A agricultural temporary foreign worker programs are a viable option for the industry. With an uncertain political climate, we felt it was important to provide more insight as to why the industry relies on these visas.”
