APHA’s Paint Horse Championship program is getting a makeover for 2017, and its earmarked for several select events this year—the first of which is the Southeast Paint Horse Championship, taking place February 18–19 as part of the Zone 9 show in Jacksonville, Florida.

Carolyn was nominated by her peers for her outstanding leadership and groundbreaking efforts to launch the Goldmine Circuit in Burbank, California, an all-breed show that couples with APHA-approved classes to help bridge the gap between Open and breed events; in 2016, the Goldmine Circuit was the largest APHA show in California.

The Oregon Quarter Horse Association’s 2017 show season gets underway February 9-12 at the Oregon Horse Center in Eugene.
– Four judges
– Full slate of classes, including Versatility Ranch Horse
– New for 2017: flat fee of $75 per judge for one horse/any division or rider (must pay AQHA drug fee and applicable cattle fees)
– Free Rookie classes with a $25 office fee
– Beginning classes offer belt buckle to the winner!

The general membership meeting on March 18 will feature guest speaker, racing legend and American Quarter Horse Hall of Famer D. Wayne Lukas. Both board of directors meetings will be open to all registered convention attendees for observation this year. Attendees now have the opportunity to listen in on important discussions during the board of directors meetings on Saturday and Monday.

Mark Harrell Horse Shows has just posted showbills for the upcoming Indy Circuit and IQHA State Show that will take place in June in New Castle, Indiana. The event will offer 8 total shows for AQHA and NSBA competitors. Both shows will offer Champion and Reserve Champion High Point awards as well as a joint High Point offering Harris Work Saddle.
