After the Open Performance Halter Geldings, exhibitors were able to participate in a foot race with their Halter horses from one side of the arena to the other to win a pair of Rod Patrick Boots and wining that pair of boots was Troy Lehn.

Madelyn Giesman and Mannetta McAvaddy, the first team to solve their clues and find Paint Horse Pete, each won a $500 scholarship from LubriSynHA. Nikayla Hetzell and Teagan Goble, the second-place team, each won a half-gallon of LubriSynHA product. The third-place team, Allie Greene and Reece Chapman, each won a quart of LubriSynHA product.

Thrush is the destruction of a portion of the horse’s hoof called the frog. This destruction is caused by an anaerobic bacteria and fungi that is not contagious. Thrush often presents itself with a strong smelling odor coming from the affected area.

Exhibitors were given a glass of wine and had to ride around the arena, the objective being to be the one with the most wine in their glass by the end of the race. Slow and steady definitely seemed to be the winning strategy, but a few competitors decided to gallop around the cones to keep things exciting.
