“The Ranching Heritage Challenges highlight the versatility, soundness and willing attitude of American Quarter Horses that are ranch-born and -raised,” said Kim Lindsey, AQHA director of ranching. “Not only do the Challenges showcase ranch-raised horses, they also offer competitors significant purses and prizes.”

With the growth the Congress has seen over the last several years, there is a need for additional Congress workers this fall. OQHA is looking for passionate people from all areas of the quarter horse world who will enjoy interacting with Congress attendees and exhibitors in a fast-paced environment. Opportunities are available throughout the Congress grounds and we welcome all levels of Quarter Horse expertise!

In 2018, an expanded entry fee structure replaces the Select Sale, and all Breeders’ Trust-nominated Regular Registry Paints are eligible to enter the Farnam Pleasure Stakes. Additionally, all Breeders’ Trust-nominated solid Paint-breds who have been genetically tested and carry a known Paint pattern marker (Tobiano; Frame Overo; Sabino 1; Splash White 1, 2 or 3; Dominant White 5, 10 or 20, confirmed through APHA-approved genetic testing) are eligible to compete with the Regular Registry horses.

Equestrians with disabilities will take the stage at the Stars & Stripes Summer Spectacular June 27 in Fort Worth, Texas. APHA and the Appaloosa Horse Club are joining forces again to offer this special opportunity for challenged riders to take the stage during the 2017 AjPHA Youth World Championship Show and World Championship Appaloosa Youth Show.
