Up to four trophies are awarded to each zone show based on the show’s high-point rules, one in each of the following divisions: Open, Amateur, Youth and Solid Paint-Bred. In order to be eligible for the Open or Solid Paint-Bred divisions, the owner must be a current member of APHA and reside in the zone.

The survey found that 75 percent of members are female and 49 percent of members are age 56 and older. The survey also revealed that the majority of AQHA members own five horses or fewer and have been riding for more than 20 years. The majority of members ride for recreation and fun.
