Watch the world’s greatest cowboys compete in cutting, reining, ranch horse, cow horse and more! The Cowtown Showdown, which will start at 5 p.m. on March 7 at the Will Rogers Memorial Center, showcases the American Quarter Horse and top professionals in the equine industry.

Dr. Tom Schell and the team at Nouvelle Research, Inc. are investigating the impact of bacterial shifts within the feces of horses and the subsequent impact on health and lameness. For decades, we have known that in certain horses as a result of environmental problems, stress and feed changes that the bacterial population can shift, but we haven’t looked at this problem in the everyday horse.

In the rulebook, you’ll learn the new rules effective as of January 1, 2015. For example, transfer fees increased from $15 to $20 per horse, however, you can save $5 by submitting your registrations via the online system. Registrations can still be mailed and faxed to AQHA, but members will save time and money by submitting them online.

A tentative schedule and judges’ list has been released for the 2015 Little Futurity that will take place June 14-17 during the Tar Heel Triple Classic, held June 11-20 at the James B. Hunt Horse Complex in Raleigh, NC. Judges for the show will be Karen Watters, Buddy Fisher, Bruce Walquist, Scott Neuman, Robin Frid, and Carla Wennberg.
