Thanks to North Carolina Quarter Horse Association show management we have results from the first two shows of the competition at the 2013 Tar Heel Triple Classic currently taking place in Raleigh, North Carolina. Click on the links below to view complete results from Shows 1 and 2.

On Saturday, the winner of the NSBA $1,000 3-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure was crowned. Casey Willis riding Twist of Moonlight was the Champion in the class, and Darren Putnam and Chasing A Dream came in Reserve. The show is just getting started, so stay tuned for complete results coming from DuQuoin later in the week.

Throughout the day, show management did an excellent job of keeping exhibitors abreast of the severe weather situation that would be passing through the area around 6 pm that evening. With winds in excess of 70 mph, a chance of hail, and isolated tornados, those who chose to remain on the showgrounds were notified of the location of the nearest storm shelter in Barn 9 should the need arise.

Prior to the show's start, stalls were already sold out at 766 reservations. However, when tornados in Oklahoma forced the cancellation of the Redbud Spectacular, stalls jumped up to the 790 mark.
