On September 17th 2011, ACTHA Founders Karen VanGetson and Carrie Scrima were honored to be able to present a check to the Mustang Heritage Foundation for $32,777 in support of the Mustang Heritage Foundation’s mission to increase the number of adoptions of American Mustangs.
ACTHA had selected the Mustang Heritage Foundation as its beneficiary for the 2011 GuinnessTM World Record Ride. On September 10th 2011, a total of 1251 trail riders from everywhere imaginable, saddled up and rode to help the great American Mustang, even trail riders in Germany rode to support the cause. Together, riders set a new Guinness™ World Record for the ‘largest competitive trail ride’.
“It is so special to see trail riders from around the world unite like this, for a common cause. With the help of our riders and ride managers, not only did we set a new world record, we did something much more important and that’s the donation we were able to raise for the Mustang Heritage Foundation to assist the mustangs in their adoption process” state Tammy Sronce, ACTHA’s Director of Marketing.
ACTHA would like to thank all of the sponsors, especially GroStrong Feed and ADM Alliance Nutrition who helped significantly with the large costs of coordinating this ride. A huge thank you, goes to the hundreds of volunteers, riders and ride managers who donated their time to help make this day a huge success. This donation takes ACTHA over the $700,000 mark for monies raised for the cause of nationwide equine employment.
