The 110 year-old 320 Ranch
Where else can you enjoy a two-night stay in a log cabin in the mountains of Montana, visit the historic 320 Ranch and receive personal instruction from one of the top female trainers in the AQHA industry? You can do all of this and more at Dana Hokana’s upcoming 320 Ranch Clinic May 22-23, 2010 in Big Sky, Montana.
The 110 year-old homestead that has been reshaped into 320 Ranch provides the perfect venue for Dana Hokana to host her upcoming Winning Strides Clinic. Surrounded by the breathtaking vistas and spectacular scenery of the Montana mountain range, you will have the opportunity to learn about Hokana’s Winning Strides program.
Hokana says clinic participants will learn how to effectively use their hands and bodies to control a horse’s body and how to diagnose and discern the difference between a horse saying yes and a horse saying yes willingly.
“People will learn the principles of a horse’s natural arc,” Hokana says. “This understanding can carry the rider to a whole new level in their riding. They will also learn exercises to increase and engage collection in their horse.”
The intensive two-day clinic format offers a unique experience for personalized attention, she says.
“I usually have between 8 and 12 horse and rider teams and quite a few spectators who are able to ask questions,” she says.
Also, Hokana encourages riders of all disciplines to attend her clinics. Her last clinic had a few dressage riders who came all the way from Alberta, Canada to participate.
“In Temecula, we are in the heart of beautiful wine country and a lot of people come here to enjoy the bed and breakfast’s and visit the old historic towns,” she says. “In Montana, with the rustic and beautiful accommodations, this clinic is a way to get knowledge to horse people, and they get to have a vacation too.”
