The California Paint Horse Association and the Seven Counties Paint Horse Club have joined forces in order to bring you the 2010 Show of the Year in Rancho Murieta, CA, April 21-25, 2010.
The impressive show format offers exhibitors the ability to show to 8 judges in 5 days and over $35,000 in class and High-Point awards. The CPHA portion of the show will be judged by Brent Harnish, Casey Devitt, LeAnn DeMars and Debbie Letham. The 7CPHC portion will be judged by Bruce Army, Mike Hachtel, and two other judges who will be announced soon.
“CPHA has been doing this show with Seven Counties PHC for about nine years now and it has been a huge success,” show manager Janet Radford says. “We are one of the top 20 shows in the nation and have had that distinction for most of the nine years.”
Radford says the show’s success is due largely in part to the clubs’ focus on a fun atmosphere, plenty of free prizes and a well-run show.
“We try to make it a fun show for our exhibitors by having a free exhibitor lunch one day, exhibitor gifts when they arrive, great judges and a well run show,” Radford says. “CPHA has been giving beach cruiser bikes as our high point awards for the last several years and they have been a huge hit. I see them at all the shows being ridden by exhibitors. We also give Carlos headstalls, Edgewood bridles, embroidered sheets, director chairs and much more.”
Radford says when all is said and done, the show will give out an estimated $35,000 worth of awards and prizes. Another exciting feature of the show is that exhibitors will earn cash awards for their placings in each class.
The payout is as follows:
1rst place:-$7
2nd place- $5
3rd place-$3
4rth place-$1
5th place-$1
6th place-$1
*Cash must be picked up no later than one hour at the end of each show
The High-Point Categories for each show include: Sr. English Horse, Jr. English Horse, Sr. Western Horse, Jr. Western Horse, Classic Amateur 19-44, Masters Amateur 45 and over, Novice Amateur, Youth 14-18, Youth 13 and under, Novice Youth and Youth Walk/Trot 5-9. The High Point awards will be given out through 6th place and the Champions for the CPHA portion of the show will receive those highly sought after beach cruiser bikes.
