On a recent shopping trip just a few days ago, I came across the cutest equestrian themed kids clothing on the planet. Typically I am not a big shopper, however in this case, I was looking for a present for my trainer’s two-year-old daughter Madison, and these outfits fit the bill perfectly.
When I walked into Hartstrings, a popular children’s clothing boutique, and almost fainted when I saw their brand-new line titled “Equestrian Country.”
Sometimes horse themed clothing, especially when it’s targeted for little kids, can be a little kitchy and overly western in style. However, this new Hartstring’s product line for girls, boys and even infants, is absolutely adorable and fashion-forward, (in case you have a mini- fashionista in the barn to please).
The girls clothing line includes knit sweaters, zip-front jackets, long and short sleeved t-shirts, pants, skirts, tights, jumpers, overalls, dresses, shoes and sleepwear, all in various shades of pink, green and chocolate brown.
Some of the shirts are more graphic, like the long sleeved version, which features a children’s drawing of a pony galloping through swirling vines. Others have more traditional appliques, like a hunt seat helmet or spotted horse in mid stride.
Mixed in with the horse-centric images are pink and green gingham, polka dot patterns and khaki with mini embroidered horses. They even have a bright yellow rain jacket, covered in one of their funky equine prints, that has pink rain boots to match.
For the gentleman, a wide selection of knit sweaters, vests, long sleeve t-shirts, hoodies, overalls and sleepwear are emblazoned with silhouettes of bucking broncs, racehorses and cowboy imagery. The color palette for the boys line is forest green, khaki, chocolate brown and burnt orange.
