2010 Tulsa March Mania: Non-Pro/Pro Showmanship Was A Big Success

By: Brittany Bevis

The Non-Pro/Pro Showmanship last night at the 2010 Tulsa March Mania was a big success with 20 entries. There were a few interesting characters in attendance, like Shrek, Fiona and Donkey from the Non-Pro Trail, the Sandman and his Spotaloosa and a Dinopaintosaurus.

Dressing up in costume wasn’t a requirement but being able to complete advanced showmanship maneuvers was. The pattern featured a 720 degree turn, a square U-shaped back, several square trot corners, an extended trot section and a pull turn. The Non-Pro’s competed in the first portion of the class and the Pro’s competed in the second.

The judges were Andrea Simons, Tim Kimura and Diane Paris, with executing ring steward Chelsea Bain.

At the end of the evening, the Non-Pro Champion was Brittany Bevis with Its AllBhindthe Zipr and the Pro Champion was Troy Lehn with Sonny Dee Zippin. Each received $500 courtesy of the class’s sponsor Carson Underwood.

Stay tuned for a video of the class to be posted shortly under EC TV and candids in the 2010 Tulsa March Mania photo gallery.
