The Congress is coming to an end! It’s my last day here and I plan on taking it easy. The Amateur Pleasure went very well for us yesterday. My horse gave me two of the best rides I’ve ever had in our split and then the finals. I couldn’t have asked for anything more from him – he definitely rose to the occasion. After all was said and done, we ended up eleventh and missed breaking the top ten by two points as someone calculated for me. We knew we were close but in all honesty, just to be in the finals here with that particular group of horses was a pretty big honor in itself. The Amateur is so competitive this year and there are so many fantastic horses. Hanging in there with that crowd and knowing we could put on a good performance was the best feeling. Congratulations to everyone!
The Masters Hunter Under Saddle and Western Pleasure classes both took place last night. Overall, I have to say that I was pretty impressed with the talent of some of the two year olds nominated for this prestigious class! Congratulations to Beth Case and the Kaplow family with Quality Art for their win in the Hunter Under Saddle and to Rusty Green and the Thompson family with Certainly Inspired for their win in the Western Pleasure.
