Have you always wondered what it would be like to write your own news articles or opinion pieces? How about doing live video interviews, or being an around-the-ring photographer? Well, now is your chance.
In an effort to make the new website a fully interactive experience, we are now allowing Equine Chronicle readers to become EC iReporters. An EC iReporter is essentially a voluntary content contributor to the website. You create your very own content, and we post it on the website. It is really that simple.
Whether you enjoy taking photographs at horse shows, or you have an idea that you think would make a great article, you can display your artistic ability and convey your opinions to a national audience – for free.
All you have to do is e-mail your name and a chosen password to info@equinechronicle.com. Then, you will receive an e-mail conformation with permission to upload your content to the website. Your iReport will then be published on the website 24-48 hours later.
On the other hand, if you are planning on being a one-time contributor and have an article, blog, opinion piece, or a story covering an event that you would like to be published, you can e-mail it to info@equinechronicle.com, or b.bevis@equinechronicle.com. All photos and videos should be sent to info@equinechronicle.com as well.
No writing or media experience is necessary and the only requirement is that the content be horse-related and appropriate to the Equine Chronicle audience. Any offensive or inappropriate content will not be approved for publication.
We encourage any and everyone to become an EC iReporter. Whether you are a national calibur exhibitor who has opinions on how to make judges more accountable, or you stick more to local shows and would like to do a feature on a charitable horse organization in your area, everyone is welcome.
If you are a horse show parent who would like to give your perspective from the sidelines, or if you know a walk-trot exhibitor who would like to write their very own story about what it is like to show horses, we would like everyone to contribute.
Besides having the ability to display your opinions to a national audience, you will also have the chance to win prizes from equinechronicle.com. One month, the best EC iReporter might win a digital camera, flip digital camcorder, or a free ad in the Equine Chronicle magazine.
Photographs can either be taken on a digital camera and emailed, or sent through your iPhone. Also, if you don’t have a flip camcorder, you can download an application from the Apple store that will allow you to shoot your own videos on your iPhone.
All you need is an e-mail address and a great idea.
