#1- Thou shalt be early- Be completely ready to go, (wearing show clothes, with numbers attached, and horse tacked up) at least an hour before show time to prevent show ring jitters. It’s better to hurry up and wait than to miss your class.

This particular pattern was very challenging with square corners, an extended lope, turns, a simple lead change, and a flying lead change. Cori and Chucky decided their plan of attack would be to take one maneuver at a time.

“I think the biggest thing today was to be patient, especially in the beginning with the sidepass and the turn. I tried not to rush anything, especially because I was showing a four-year-old.”

Alissa Boersen led her 12-year-old gelding, Hot Nuff To Glow, to win their first World Show title in Novice Youth Showmanship. Alissa is 14 years old now and has had Johnny since she was just five years old!

13-year-old Ava Coughlin rode 7-year-old Touched Softly, aka “Georgia,” to a win in Novice Youth Western Pleasure. She just purchased Georgia in April, so she’s only shown her a handful of times since then.

Winning the class was Natalia Devencenty with Chex Is The Choice, who just came off an exceptional AQHA Youth World Show winning Youth Trail, placing fifth in Western Riding, and sixth in Horsemanship.
