Of special interest to regional clubs, the timeline for what is known as the “regional relief program” was extended to December 21, 2014. This is the option for regional clubs to have a double‐pointed judge as a way to reduce the cost of conducting a show.

APHA recently announced its year-end Amateur division award winners for the 2013 show season. Five equestriennes finished the year at the top of their respective divisions.

AQHA looks forward to Kyle joining AQHA’s management team and enhancing the show division with his knowledge and expertise. Kyle will begin his duties as the AQHA executive director of shows and judges in June.

The International Horse Show will begin tomorrow in Springfield, Illinois and will continue through April 19th offering six sets of points for AQHA competitors. A new schedule for 2014 will allow everyone time to get home for Easter on Sunday!

APHA recently announced its year-end Open division award-winning horses for the 2013 show season. Two outstanding horses finished at the top of their respective divisions.

This year, core Rookie classes (showmanship, horsemanship, hunt seat equitation, western pleasure, hunter under saddle and trail) will now be featured at the Nutrena East and SmartPak West AQHA Novice championships for Level 1 exhibitors. The classes, designed for beginning competitors, will be offered in addition to the current line-up of Level 1 (formerly Novice) classes.

The competition aims to recognize top female trainers from the United States and Canada. Open to women trainers of any breed or discipline, the six-month challenge started at the beginning of April and concludes at the finals event in Oklahoma City on October 3–5, 2014.

“Nic,” owned by Judy Siebel of Bitterroot Springs Ranch in Stevensville, Montana, earned a composite score of 637.5 for a $3,829 paycheck.

WCHA-approved classes offered at the Futurity will include Yearling Stallions, Mares, Geldings, Limited Open classes, Non-Pro classes, Select classes, Youth All Age classes, Limited Youth All Age classes, and the Best of Show, which will receive a special prize!
