Just moments ago, Mary Lou Searles and Flashy Attraction were named the Select Western Riding World Champions at the 2011 Adequan Select AQHA World Show in Amarillo, TX.

Mary Lou had quite a lot to live up to going into this Select World, because just a month before, her granddaughter, Taylor Searles, was named the Reserve World Champion and Intermediate Champion with Flashy Attraction at the 2011 AQHYA World Show. At twelve years old, Taylor was also the youngest rider to make it back to the AQHYA Western Riding Finals.

But even with the extra pressure to do her granddaughter proud, Mary Lou and “Rider” came away with an outstanding score of 230 for the win.

Both Mary Lou, Taylor and Rider compete under the guidance of Jim and Deanna Searles.

Judges for this class were Holly Hover, Jim Dudley, Betsy Tuckey, Bill Kaven and Gary Werner.
