That’s right, it isn’t a typo and no you’re not dreaming. The 2011 Reichert Celebration has recently announced that they will be expanding their ever-popular Reichert Random Rewards Exhibitor Appreciation Program by instituting a five saddle a day giveaway during their show, which is scheduled for September 2-11, 2011 in Fort Worth, TX.

So that’s five saddles a day, during the course of the ten day long horse show, which means that exhibitors will have the chance to win one of 50 saddles to be given away at the event!

Since the show’s creation in 1999, Reichert Celebration show management has embraced the idea that their event is truly, “not just another horse show.” With the introduction of new classes every year, a continuously expanding show schedule featuring multiple breeds, and a plethora of parties, entertainment and fundraising activities, the Reichert Celebration is always looking for new ways to set the bar even higher.

One of their more unique programs, that has become a celebrated tradition over the past eleven years, is the Reichert Random Rewards Exhibitor Appreciation Program. We spoke with Terry Schroeder, who gave us a little insight into how their show rewards not only the class winners, but all exhibitors for their efforts.

“In the past, many shows have always given awards to the winners,” Schroeder says. “But from the start of our show in 1999, we have also given awards to those exhibitors who aren’t the winners of the classes. We have given out saddles to last place, done a backwards race for an Arena Werks drag, musical buckets for a Harris headstall and much more.”

If you have ever made the trip to a Reichert Celebration before, you will know that the Reichert Premiere Signature evening classes are undoubtedly the main event, drawing in exhibitors and the general public to watch some of the best futurity horses in the country compete for the largest purses. However, when the announcer comes over the loudspeaker at the end of a daytime class, and instructs riders to turn over their horses to handlers at the entrance to the arena, all spectators know to head up to the main pen to watch some very entertaining competition.

Over the years, some of these fun exhibitor appreciation contests and giveaways have included a match-your-boot race, backwards race, and everyone’s favorite musical buckets. All of these fun contests will continue this year and many different types of products and items will be given out for random draws within classes, including the 50 saddles.

“The saddles are Wenger custom work saddles, from Wenger Leather Works,” Shroeder says. “Some will be given away through random draws and contests. Basically we are giving away five saddles a day for a total of 50 saddles.”

The Reichert Celebration has many more exciting new things planned for the 2011 show, including new entertainment, educational clinics and interesting demonstrations. Stay tuned to EquineChronicle.com for more news about the upcoming Reichert Celebration.
