REINING- Shea Gilson • Fresno State
– Went 2-0 for the Bulldogs during November with one Most Outstanding Performer award.
– Won her point at home against South Carolina, 76-75 on November 9 while being named Most Outstanding Performer in reining.
– Defeated her Baylor opponent, 73.5-72.5, on November 10.

Johnny T.L Jones Has Passed

In 1977, he became the owner and manager of Walmac Stud International in Lexington, Kentucky, where he developed such legendary Thoroughbred sires such as Nureyev, Miswaki and Alleged. He was a founder of Thoroughbred racing’s Breeder’s Cup, served as the vice chairman for the Kentucky Racing Commission, director of the Association of State Racing Commissioners, Director for the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association, and is a former member of the executive committee of the Texas Horse Racing Association. He is a member of the Texas Racing and Ruidoso halls of fame.

A coach can’t communicate via email, text, phone call or through social media messaging with an athlete about being a prospective recruit until September 1st of that rider’s junior year in high school. In addition, coaches are not allowed to comment on social media posts, they can only like or share these posts. But current NCEA riders say waiting until then to start thinking about college can put you behind in figuring out your future.

Throughout 2019, NSBYA will be holding Denim Drives at various horse shows. NSBYA will collect gently used, clean denim to donate to local homeless shelters at different horse shows. We are kicking off the project in Tampa, Florida during the Gold and Gulf Coast Circuits December 28 – January 5, 2019 at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

Qualified equine trainers are urged to apply by Dec. 1st to take part in the Midwest Horse Fair Mustang Challenge, a competition of legendary proportions designed to spotlight the all-American Mustang. Trainers will be matched with wild Mustangs and will work with the horses for 90 days to allow their natural abilities to shine through.
